Granada and Sierra Nevada by minivan: groups, skis and the Alhambra
Granada is 135 km from Málaga Airport, about 90 minutes on the A-45 and A-92 motorways with no tolls. For a group of six or eight the minivan at €255 works out at €32 per person, less than most combinations of airport bus, train and taxi, and the vehicle takes you straight to your hotel in the centre, the Albaicín or the ski resort rather than to a bus station. We drive this route all year: Alhambra visits in spring and autumn, skiing in Sierra Nevada from December to April, student groups and conferences in between.
Granada's historic centre has restricted traffic zones. Our drivers hold the permits to reach hotels inside the old town and know which streets of the Albaicín are closed to vehicles, so the minivan gets you and your luggage to the door or to the nearest permitted point, and the driver tells you before you arrive. For Sierra Nevada we quote the resort separately, at €360 for the minivan.

The minivans we use for Granada
Mercedes Vito or V-Class, or a comparable 8-seater (Ford Tourneo Custom, Volkswagen Caravelle): all with air conditioning, individual seats and a separate luggage compartment. We never use shuttle minibuses or shared vehicles.

Minivan to Granada: questions groups ask us
Can the minivan carry skis for eight people?
Skis and boards for a full group of eight need a roof box, which we provide on request for Sierra Nevada transfers; tell us when you book. For six passengers the skis fit inside with the luggage. Choose Sierra Nevada as the destination for the resort fare rather than Granada.
Can we stop for a break on the way to Granada?
Yes. A ten-minute stop at a service area on the A-45 is included on request; many families ask for one with small children. Longer stops, for example lunch in Antequera, are quoted separately.
Is the Granada minivan available for the return to Málaga Airport?
Yes, choose Return in the form and the price doubles. The driver picks you up at your hotel; for the way back we suggest leaving Granada about three and a half hours before an international departure.
Can we be dropped at two hotels in Granada?
Yes, if they are in the same area, for example two hotels near the cathedral. Note both addresses when you book. Hotels in the restricted-traffic zone are reached with the driver's permit; you do not need to arrange anything.
Is €255 the price for the whole minivan or per person?
For the whole minivan, one way, with VAT included. With 8 people it works out at €32 each. A return trip costs twice the single fare and can be booked in the same form.
We are 9 or 10 people. What do you suggest?
Two vehicles: a minivan plus a sedan, or two minivans, both booked for the same flight and both waiting in arrivals. Write the total number of people in the booking notes and we confirm the combination and the price by email.
