Nerja and the east coast by minivan: no toll, one vehicle, everyone together
Nerja attracts a different kind of group: families who rent a house in Burriana or Capistrano for two weeks, friends going to the caves and the Balcón de Europa, walkers heading for Frigiliana and the Almijara hills. The drive from Málaga Airport is 70 km east along the A-7, with no tolls at all, and takes about 55 minutes. For five to eight people the minivan at €128 is cheaper than two taxis and far more relaxed, with the bags in the back and the children in their seats.
Nerja's old centre is a maze of narrow streets closed to traffic in summer, and many holiday homes are up steep lanes in Capistrano, Punta Lara or on the road to Frigiliana. Our drivers do this route every week; send us the exact address and, if you have it, the name of the urbanisation, and the driver takes the minivan as close to the door as the street allows.

One minivan or two sedans to Nerja?
With five or more people a standard taxi does not work: you would need two cars, two bookings and two drivers who may not arrive together. The minivan solves it in one vehicle.

The minivans we use for Nerja
Mercedes Vito or V-Class, or a comparable 8-seater (Ford Tourneo Custom, Volkswagen Caravelle): all with air conditioning, individual seats and a separate luggage compartment. We never use shuttle minibuses or shared vehicles.

Three rows of individual seats with seatbelts and ISOFIX points for child seats. Nobody travels on a fold-down seat.
Luggage compartment
8 medium suitcases (or 6 large) behind the last row. Golf bags, pushchairs and wheelchairs fit; tell us when you book and the driver loads accordingly.
Child seats at no cost
Baby seat, child seat and booster are free. Choose them in the booking form and they are fitted before the driver reaches arrivals.

Minivan to Nerja: questions groups ask us
Is there a toll on the way to Nerja?
No. The A-7 east of Málaga is free all the way to Nerja, so the €128 is the complete price for the minivan: no tolls, no night supplement, no luggage fees. You pay the driver when you arrive.
Can the minivan take us up to Frigiliana instead of Nerja?
Yes. Frigiliana is about ten minutes above Nerja; choose Nerja in the form, write Frigiliana and the address in the notes, and we confirm the small supplement by email before you travel. The minivan handles the hill road without problems.
We have surfboards and bikes. Will they fit in the minivan?
Folded bikes and boards up to about two metres fit in the luggage area with fewer than eight passengers. For a full group of eight plus sports equipment we recommend a second vehicle or a minivan with a roof box; tell us what you carry when booking and we advise.
Is Nerja a good base without a car for a group?
For the beaches, the caves, Frigiliana by bus and the restaurants, yes. For day trips to Granada or Málaga we can book the minivan again at a fixed price; a return trip to the airport is booked in the same form by choosing Return.
Is €128 the price for the whole minivan or per person?
For the whole minivan, one way, with VAT included. With 8 people it works out at €16 each. A return trip costs twice the single fare and can be booked in the same form.
We are 9 or 10 people. What do you suggest?
Two vehicles: a minivan plus a sedan, or two minivans, both booked for the same flight and both waiting in arrivals. Write the total number of people in the booking notes and we confirm the combination and the price by email.
